The poor college student life.

Hey all!
So I havent blogged in ten years. (well. not actually ten years. but you get my point.)
I have been reading lots of other blogs though, and I want to share them with ya'll! I love that all of these blogs are all about super fabulous stuff for an even more fabulous price. I need that, Im still living the poor college student life for one more semester!

First up, a friend of mine just redid her blog a few months ago and has the cutest sense of style. She posts all the time about her awesome style and cheap deals she finds all over the place. Riley Jo is all I aspire to be in a blogger, and you need to check out her blog. I read all of her posts and I am never upset that I did, I learn something new and useful every time, and besides that she is hilarious. You can check out her blog, click here!

I have liked Six Sister's Stuff on facebook, and they post the best recipes and they are usually super low budget and some of the treats look amazzzinnggg. They have lots of giveaways and craft ideas as well. Like them on facebook too, you wont regret it! Their blog is full of stuff and they have it organized really well. I hope to be trying one of their weekly meal plans soon.

The Pioneer Woman has AWESOME recipes. She makes cooking really simple. She has a show on the Food Network, and she cooks healthy meals in about ten minutes using really practical ingredients. I always hate when I go to look at a recipie and half of the ingredients are things I have never heard of. If you don't know me well, I LOVE to bake and cook. I cook for my roommates almost every night, and sometimes quick is all we have time for.

I found a salsa recipe on pinterest I absolutely adore. Everyone else around me loves it too, I make it almost everytime I go home and when I go to Jacki's(my home away from home) for the weekend. Her dad loves it. I figured I would share it with you, Its so easy, you just throw everything in the blender or food processor and its ready to go. I do everything to taste, I don't really follow the recipe exactly, and depending on how spicy you like it you won't put as much of the jalapeno in it as I would. :) I also don't put honey in it, but I'm sure it's delicious either way. If you are life me and dont like super chunky salsa, this recipe will be your new favorite. I promise! This blog also has lots of recipes, and high altitude cooking help, which is nice if you live in Wyoming. I always had problems with high altitude and forgetting to plan my recipes accordingly. Check out Mountain Mama Cooks!

I love cooking, so I would love to try new recipes. If you have any or found a fantastic cooking blog let me know!

Alright. So I got lectured about not blogging, so here I am, blogging for all of you who want to hear about my interesting life. My computer got sent to the computer doctor and it is finally back! Thanks to Jackis mom it has the brand new operating system, and all of my programs are updated and its all sorts of clean, and doesnt burn my legs to pieces anymore!

Are you ready? Get excited, you know, cause my life is so super cool.

I moved to SLC! Yay! I work at Wheeler farm and give tours to school children all day. Dont worry, I use my kid voice and hop like a bunny all the way to the milk barn anywhere from 2-5 times a day! Soon I will be helping run a summer camp for kids ages 6-10, which should be so fun, I get to play with horses and cows and do crafts. What else could I ask for in a minimum wage paying job right? Thomas is in SLC, so I get to see my cute boy every day, and I love every second of it. I am slightly obsessed with my horse, its okay. I have an iPhone now, and im absolutely in love. I use it more than my computer or my ipad, and it stays alive almost all day! If you know me and my luck with phones, you know that is a huge freakin deal.

Oh. Dont worry I didnt forget this! After finals I got to go to San Diego and see my boyfriend!!!!(Thanks tax return) I booked the flight at the very beginning of April and didnt get to go till May 9th, it was sort of torture. I definitely had a countdown going. But I had so much fun, even if we spend most of the time driving around in his truck trying to find the places we were going. We got to walk along mission beach, go to sunset cliffs(and due to my impatience and ADD we didnt get to see the sunset...oops.) We stayed at Days Hotel in hotel circle, and it was super close to everything. Food, beaches, shopping and pretty much everywhere we wanted to go. I loved San Diego, and I cant wait to go back. Especially if I get to see Sam. I like him just a little bit :) For dinner our last night we were there, we ended up at some random Japanese grill, and there was only chopsticks, no forks. we got a dinner with 7 side dishes, and it was really interesting because we didn't know what any of it was. Definitely an experience I wont forget! It was actually really good. Reminded me of Bridesmaids and the place they go to lunch and get really sick, except we did not get sick. Which is probably a good thing. We went to a hookah bar, which was also an experience that I havent had. There is one in SLC now that I think i need to go to over the summer now. I definitely did not want to leave Sunday evening. Four days was not long enough.

For now, Im just working and riding Thomas, living the life. I should graduate next may, and my job is actually counting for elective credit for fall. Salt Lake traffic drives me crazy, and I miss everyone in Logan. Theres my update!

Reason, Season, or a Lifetime?

Reason, Season, or Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you figure out which one it is,
you will know what to do for each person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON,
it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty;
to provide you with guidance and support;
to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually.
They may seem like a godsend, and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.
Some people come into your life for a SEASON,
because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it. It is real. But only for a season.
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons;
things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person,
and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.
— Unknown

If anyone doesnt know what clairvoyant means....(don't feel dumb...I didn't know either) this is the definition from wikipedia, for what its worth:

The term clairvoyance (from French clair meaning "clear" and voyance meaning "vision") is used to refer to the ability to gain information about an object, person, location or physical event through means other than the known human senses

anyways. I thought this poem was really appropriate, because I began to wonder why people left all the time. I lose friendships and relationships end and I always wonder what I did wrong, and what was wrong with me. I came across this poem because someone posted a part of it on their facebook, and i clicked on the link and read the rest of it. It makes sense, that we come across people for a reason, and when they leave, it really sucks, but you took something away from the experience, usually. Some great things are only meant to last for a little while, and then better things come along.

Last week was literal hell. I had a test, a group discussion, and a presentation(which my professor moved up a week and didnt tell me...) It was easy to say I was stressed, and I didn't feel very good about everything. Finally I made it through the week, the weekend rolled around, and I just relaxed, went to a movie saturday, and church today. Today I thought about money issues and how I was going to pay for school next year, and I immediately started panicking, I didnt know what I was going to do. But after nearly breaking down, something told me I was going to be okay, and an instant calm came over me. It was so cool. I have never felt that before, and I immediately believed it. God is going to take care of me, and is going to lead me where he needs me to be, and I have complete faith in that. My decisions, everything is all in his hands. Things are meant to happen for a reason, and God has put so many amazing people in my life, he will bring in people that I need. Until then, Im going to try and not worry, because it's really out of my hands. :) So here is a calm, happy chelsea. I woke up to bright sunshine coming through my window, and I dont think it could have been any more clear that its time for me to put the past behind and move forward.
